Last weekend our entire family went to Fenwick Island, Delaware to attend a family wedding and we had a fabulous time.  It was actually the first time in a couple years that Tim and Emily were able to join us.  The weather on Saturday was beautiful (image to follow on the next posting).

Tonight is Wednesday and our contractor, Ed, did a wonderful job building the ramp for us. It's about 44' long and runs along the side of the house.  Cars approaching from the east won't really be able to see it because of a line of trees we have along the driveway.  Cars approaching from the west won't see it because it's blocked by the house.  ( I requested that they end the ramp exactly in line with the front of the house). Both Darlene and I are very happy with this - it is another component we've added that reduces the risk of falls or injuries.  Next on the list is a stair glide to go from the first floor to the second floor.

Meanwhile, Laura gets seen twice a week by in-home OT and PT specialists.  Earlier this week I came home for lunch to find Laura in the family room working with OT at planting Zinnia flower seeds in a Burpee mini greenhouse.  It reminded me of the past few summers when Laura would regularly take care of all our flowers and bird feeders that were on the back deck. Those were some of the most colorful summers we ever had, with a constant supply of blooming flowers and regular visits by the neighborhood humming birds.
