What happened to the 70 degrees that was forecast for Friday the 24th of February?  I took the day off of work hoping to spend some time on the driving range with my golf clubs.  But it was not to be. Nonetheless I enjoyed the day anyway.  Darlene and I went to the Bel Loc Diner for breakfast - one of my favorite all time places.  Many years ago I used to go out to breakfast with my father in law and his brother in law (my uncle by marriage).  Today it was the two of us and I ordered my typical scrambled eggs with sausage, potatoes and rye toast.

Afterwards, the long weekend just kept getting better.  I started cleaning up the yard and preparing for spring time, planted some flowers around the trees in the front yard, made some calls to get quotes for building a 40' outdoor ramp for Laura, finished my taxes, and went running.  Oh, and I took a blissful afternoon nap on Saturday.

But it was more then just what I did.  It was extremely nice to see Darlene and Laura go to a bingo event on Friday night.  Our daughter Emily come over on Saturday night to spend time with Laura while Darlene and I went out for dinner and a movie.

Today, I stayed home while Darlene went to church, I did the laundry, cleaned the kitchen, and planted more flowers.  The chocolate chip cookies that Laura and Darlene baked were ready when I came home from food shopping.  Later in the evening I set up the Wii console and we played a few games together.
