Darlene and I were able to go to a movie on Saturday - just the two of us - thanks to a family relative willing to come over and spend time with Laura. I felt somewhat guilty leaving our daughter for those 3 hours and on a few occasions felt like canceling our movie night. Darlene actually saw it quite differently and really wanted to go out and felt comfortable knowing everything was "covered"at home.
So whenever those guilty feelings came upon me I reminded myself that this was important to Darlene and for us as a couple.
Later that evening, after we all were ready to go to sleep, I was happy with how this night turned out which began our slow return to normalcy. It was important turning point.
