6 month milestone

Last week was a big week for Laura.  On Wednesday, she took her last dose of Cyclosporine  This not only meant that there were no more 11pm medications to give, it also meant that Laura could enjoy a lot of things she had been encouraged to avoid.  Namely, fresh fruit and luncheon meats. She celebrated by eating her first ham and cheese sub in 6 months at our local Quiznos!

On Friday, she had her 6 month follow up tests, which included pulmonary function tests, EKG and Echocardiogram. Not only has she lived through the 1st 6 months post bone marrow transplant without any fever or cold, but also her commitment to regaining some of her strength and coordination is evident by some of the tasks that she has been doing around the house.
